Current Affairs for Competitive Exams April 2012 Part 1

Most of the Students often get confused about covering the current affairs topic whether they are going for some Civil Services Exams, SSC Exams, Bank Exams, PSU Exams etc, current affairs topic is always there and carry lot of marks, So from where to fully prepare this topic? Ofcourse the Newspapers are best source and and Magazines are supplementary. But often students find it difficult to choose topic from newspapers that are important for exam point of view and waste lot of time reading unnecessary news and run behind websites, magazines etc to cover it. I have also gone through many of the websites and magazines on general knowledge but did not able to get full material that is required.

So now I am going to made a attempt for all the aspirants to deliver best according to your needs. I will be delivering each month's current affair in three parts, each containing the material from 10 days of that month. These current affairs are ofcourse from the newspaper and I have tried my best to deliver each news which is important and to the point so that you can prepare fast.

I am targeting all the exams due to commence from August. As the things are asked from last 6 months, I am starting from the month of April and going to deliver other on regular basis. • STAR Group on Monday staved off competition from Multi-Screen Media (Sony) to secure the broadcast, internet, and mobile rights for cricket in India from July 2012 to March 2018.
• The deal — valued at Rs. 3,851 crore for 96 matches — includes rights for India's international matches at home and domestic events such as Ranji Trophy and Irani Trophy but does not include the IPL.
• Multi-Screen Media came out with a bid of Rs. 3,700 crore.
• The Rupert Murdoch-owned STAR Group will pay Rs. 40 crore on an average for each match.
• This is significantly higher than the Rs. 32.5 crore that Nimbus, the previous broadcaster, had to pay for each match before its contract was terminated last year
